CHRIS MCGUIRE

FOUNDER & PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Chris proudly serves as co-founder and Program Director of Dallas Sober Living Solutions and Arbor Park Recovery. As a person in long-term recovery, Chris is motivated by his passion and dedication to helping others achieve sobriety. Chris’s professional experience in sober living began fourteen years ago when he saw that individuals who left addiction treatment centers needed a supportive living environment before they moved on to the next step in life. He has served as State Coordinator for a well-known nonprofit sober living community where he managed over 50 properties and opened 35 of those in the Dallas area.

Chris is a passionate advocate for the recovery community and has traveled extensively within Texas and across the United States, speaking with coalitions and advocating the importance of sober living. Chris has also coordinated the Stephen Cripe and Pete Wheeler Foundations, which help fund individuals' sober living facilities. He was recently voted in as the advocacy chair for the Dallas Texas Association of Addiction Professionals (TAAP). He currently also is a local outreach for a residential treatment center.

Chris believes that through compassionate and comprehensive recovery-supportive services, everyone touched by addiction can heal and become happy, healthy, and productive members of society.

Chris Shanks

I provide an alternative type of substance abuse counseling that specializes in chronic relapsing. I combine neuroscience and mindfulness skills to help the client transform the way they see the world and themselves. Every relapse starts as a thought, a sober thought. However this isn’t seen as thought and has dire implications. Mindfulness can change that. I will help you develop new skills that change the relationship with thoughts.

Nikki Tepecik, LCSW

I have over 15 years of experience in the counseling field and am passionate about helping my clients find insight and healing in their most difficult moments. I received my master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and I specialize in working with clients who are facing issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. I don’t intend to tell you what to do or what you need. I believe you already have those answers. But I also believe that I may be able to help you reveal them to yourself – to uncover them from a lifetime of experiences that can bury them in self-doubt and fear. I want to help you find freedom from emotional pain, anxiety, anger and grief. I want you to rediscover hope, joy and purpose and find new meaning, even in life’s challenges. I utilize an eclectic approach, focusing on empowering my clients and affirming their strengths. I will listen without judgment and will return your sincerity and commitment to this process with my own.
